This particular disease which is also known as diabetes mellitus is a disease in which blood glucose levels are high because the body cannot release or use insulin adequately. It can also be caused by a lack of the hormone insulin or the body cells cannot respond to the hormone insulin. There are three types of this disease, i.e.:

- Insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus
- Non-insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus
- Gestational diabetes mellitus.

What harm is that when diabetes is more severe and cause complications. To reduce complications a patient should stop smoking, optimizing cholesterol levels, maintain a stable body weight, controlling high blood pressure, and exercise regularly.

Cinnamon contains compounds called PTP1B, which works to activate compounds in pancreatic beta cells in a way to enable function to produce insulin. Ginseng is also very good because of its ability to encourage the immune system. Ginseng may slow carbohydrate absorption, increase the cells' ability to absorb glucose, and increased release of insulin from the pancreas. For the consumption of carbohydrates, brown rice is proven to be able to increase endurance and reduce the risk of diabetes.

Here are several common methods to prevent diabetes:

- Manage your diet well.
- Do not eat or drink sweet foods and beverages too often.
